HCM City led the country in the number of visitors during the five-day holiday marking the National Reunification anniversary (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Vietnamese people should consider tourists their
family, Deputy Minister Vu Duc Dam said at a ceremony held on Wednesday
to mark the 55th anniversary of the tourism sector.
More than 70 government officials and personnel from
travel agencies, hotels as well as academics from Viet Nam and South
Korea exchanged notes and shared best practices at a tourism workshop
held yesterday in HCM City.
Viet Nam must improve the effectiveness of its
participation in international tourism fairs, said Luong Hoai Nam, a
member of the Tourism Advisory Board.
The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) presented brand
guidelines to help tourism agencies effectively use slogans and brands
in promoting tourism in the country this morning.
The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism has launched a programme
to promote in-country tourism by Vietnamese as part of national efforts
to mobilise the national economy.
